Block of the Month 2013-2014:

Each month a new pattern will be provided for a quilt block.  The patterns can be pieced, appliquéd, embroidered, etc.  The blocks may be all of one theme or totally unrelated, as decided by the committee chair. Patterns can be easy, intermediate or challenging.  The purpose is to provide education, inspiration and fun for our members. The block patterns are available on the website.

Jennifer Mees, Chair                       Carol Trumpfheller, Co-Chair

The program begins July, 2013 and is scheduled to conclude June, 2014.
This year's program theme is Nine-Patch Blocks. The blocks will start out fairly simple and will become more challenging as the year progresses.  Each month, a sample setting quilt will be shown on the website with the announced blocks shown and the future blocks indicated as simple Nine-Patches. Members can and will use their own preference for setting ideas. We hope that members will shown their finished quilt in the next MTQG quilt show.

(The September Block includes a template to assist in placing two side triangles for stitching. The copies available at the Sept meeting will have the template stapled to the instructions. The website copy will need to be printed and cut out on the outside of the drawn lines. Be sure to mark the little line B for easy placement.

Thank you to the members who contributed an extra block for Community Quilts. If you want to contribute a block, please give it to Jennifer Mees or Carol Trumpfheller. Participation is optional.
